Medsquare supports the International Day of Radiology #IDoR2024

Each year, November 8 marks the International Day of Radiology (#IDoR2024). This event (13th edition) is organized by major scientific societies in the field: the European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR). Imaging professionals celebrate this day to honor the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, a major discovery that earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901.

This initiative aims to highlight the essential role of medical imaging professionals in modern medicine and to raise public awareness about the importance of radiology in ensuring patient safety. National radiology societies, along with their specialties and industry partners, are invited to mark this day by organizing a variety of activities, such as conferences, open days, social media communications, and press events.

This year’s theme: Radiologists and Radiographers supporting patients

This year’s focus is Healthcare professionals’ role in supporting patients. In this context, Medsquare highlights the contribution of the DACS Radiation Dose Monitor (RDM) for patients. RDM makes it possible to collect, archive and share all of the data necessary for the centralized management of the dose delivered to the patient, in radiology and nuclear medicine. Thanks to RDM, healthcare professionals can collect a wealth of patient dose information and increase protection against radiation through justification and optimization. Thus, the whole objective of the solution is linked to radiation protection, understanding and risk assessment – especially in the context of repeated radiation examinations. RDM helps healthcare professionals take better care of patients, thanks to tools and indicators that, with a single click, show the caregivers the next actions that they can take, always with a view to improvement.
